The presence of the Roman Catholic head quarters in Vatican, of course a separate nation, has made Italy one of the most preferred heritage tour destinations in the world. A tour across Italy should begin from its capital city Rome and followed in this order Venice, Florence, Naples, Turin, Milan and Siena.

Rome

Rome being a historic city has plethora of attractions for tourists. The following are the must see places in Rome: St Peters and the Vatican Museums; Colosseum, one of the seven wonders of the world; Roman Forum; Trevi Fountain; Pantheon; Spanish Steps; Capitoline Museums; Villa Borghese; Castel Saint Angelo; Piazza Navona; San Pietro in Vincoli and many other historic churches like St Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel in the city. Venice
